Seest thou not that We have set the devils on the disbelievers to confound them with confusion? 83 Hence, be not in haste [to call down God's punishment] upon them: for We but number the number of their days. 84 The day on which We will gather those who guard (against evil) to the Beneficent Allah to receive honors 85 and drive the evildoers as herds, into Gehenna 86 No one will have power to intercede, except for those who have permission from the Lord of Mercy. 87 And they say: "The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son ['Iesa (Christ)], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.)]." 88 Assuredly, you have uttered a monstrous falsehood: 89 whereat the heavens might well-nigh be rent into fragments, and the earth be split asunder, and the mountains fall down in ruins! 90 That they attribute to the Most Merciful a son. 91 And it behoveth not the Compassionate that he should take a son. 92 None is there in the heavens and earth but he comes to the All-merciful as a servant; 93 Assuredly He hath comprehended them and counted them a full counting. 94 Every one of them will come before Him all alone on the Day of Resurrection. 95 Verily, those who believe [in the Oneness of Allah and in His Messenger (Muhammad SAW)] and work deeds of righteousness, the Most Beneficent (Allah) will bestow love for them (in the hearts of the believers). 96 and only to this end have We made this [divine writ] easy to understand, in thine own tongue, [O Prophet,] so that thou might convey thereby a glad tiding to the God-conscious, and warn thereby those who are given to [futile] contention: 97 How many generations living before them did We destroy? Do you find anyone of them around or do you even hear any word from them? 98
