This surely is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe: 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayest be of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they clearly see the grievous chastisement. 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 And then the promise that is given to them, does come upon them- 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 And We did not destroy any town but it had (its) warners, 208 We have never been unjust to anyone. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 They have been precluded from hearing it. 212 So call not thou unto another god along with Allah, lest thou be of the doomed. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 and place thy trust in the Almighty, the Dispenser of Grace, 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 and sees your movements among those who prostrate themselves: 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them; 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
