Hizb 46
< random >
So also was Jonah among those sent (by Us). 139 He fled to the overloaded ship. 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 He would certainly have tarried in its belly to the day when they are raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a bare desert whilst he was sick. 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Do you not understand? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship, 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 They used to say before: 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 then were we God's sincere servants.' 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 for, long ago has Our word gone forth unto Our servants, the message-bearers, 171 that it is certainly they who will be helped; 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned! 177 Stay away from them for a while 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 and peace be upon the Messengers, 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
