Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
