The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We also shall call the infernal guards. 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
