The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By oath of the beloved shining star Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him), when he returned from the Ascent. 1 Your Companion is neither astray nor being misled. 2 nor does he speak out of desire. 3 Indeed it is not except a Revelation which is revealed, 4 taught him by one terrible in power, 5 and endowed with wisdom; who in time manifested himself; 6 And he is in the highest part of the horizon. 7 Then he drew near, then he bowed 8 until he was two bow-lengths away or even closer 9 And thus did [God] reveal unto His servant whatever He deemed right to reveal. 10 The heart lied not in that which he saw. 11 What! So do you dispute with him regarding what he saw? 12 And certainly he saw him in another descent, 13 at the Lote Tree (Sidrat tree) of the ending 14 close to the Garden of Refuge. 15 When that covered the lote-tree which did cover it! 16 His sight did not waver nor was it unduly bold. 17 Indeed he saw some of the greatest signs of His Lord. 18 Have you considered Lat and 'Uzza, 19 And Manat the other third? 20 Are there sons for you, and daughters for Him? 21 Then that is surely a very unjust distribution! 22 They are naught but names which you have named, you and your fathers; Allah has not sent for them any authority. They follow naught but conjecture and the low desires which (their) souls incline to; and certainly the guidance has come to them from their Lord. 23 Is the human to have whatever he fancies? 24 Rather, to Allah belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
