The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount 1 And [by] a Book inscribed 2 In an outstretched fine parchment, 3 And the House (Kaaba) that is visited, 4 and the uplifted roof 5 By the sea overflowing. 6 surely thy Lord's chastisement is about to fall; 7 There is none can avert it;- 8 On the Day when the heaven will shake with a dreadful shaking, 9 And the mountains will pass on, departing - 10 So woe on that day to those who reject (the truth), 11 That play (and paddle) in shallow trifles. 12 on that Day they shall be ruthlessly thrust into the Fire of Hell. 13 “This is the Hell which you used to give the lie to.” 14 Then is this magic, or do you not see? 15 Go now and burn in it. It is all the same whether you bear it patiently or do not bear it with patience. You are only being recompensed for your deeds.” 16 Indeed the pious are in Gardens and peace. 17 Rejoicing in that which their Lord hath vouchsafed unto them; and their Lord will protect them from the torment of the Flame. 18 "Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for your good deeds," 19 (They shall be) reclining on couches ranged in rows and We shall wed them to houris (virgins of Paradise) with large wide eyes. 20 And as for those who have attained to faith and whose offspring will have followed them in faith, We shall unite them with their offspring; and We shall not let aught of their deeds go to waste: [but] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever he has earned. 21 And We provide them with fruit and meat such as they desire. 22 There, they shall pass from hand to hand a cup which does not lead to any idle talk or sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round on them youths appointed to attend them as though they were pearls hidden. 24 And one of them turned towards the other, questioning. 25 They will say: “When we were living before among our kinsfolk we lived in constant fear (of Allah's displeasure). 26 So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. 27 Surely we called upon Him before: Surely He is the Benign, the Merciful. 28
