Nay, by the moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 In Gardens they will question 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
