The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 where then are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
