The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Triumphant indeed are the believers, 1 Who are humble in their service, 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 Who are active in deeds of charity; 4 who guard their privates, 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 these are the heirs 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 And on them, and on ships you are carried. 22
