And indeed, We created man from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 26 while We had brought the jinn into being before out of blazing fire. 27 When your Lord said to the angels, "I will create the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay. 28 When it is properly shaped and I have blown My Spirit into it, you should then bow down in prostration". 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 Except Iblis (Satan), - he refused to be among the prostrators. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What is your reason for not being among the prostrators?" 32 He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud." 33 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state]: for, behold, thou art [henceforth] accursed, 34 Upon thee shall rest the curse, till the Day of Doom.' 35 He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." 36 Allah said: "Then, verily, you are of those reprieved, 37 Until the Day of the time well-known." 38 He said: my Lord! because Thou hast led me to err I will surely make things fairseeming unto them on the earth and will surely seduce them all: 39 But not such of them as are Thy bondmen single-hearted. 40 (Allah) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me. 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 And verily, Hell is the promised abode for them all! 43 It has seven gates, and through each gate a portion of them belong. 44
