a large throng from the ancients, 39 and a large group of those of later times. 40 And those on the Left Hand Who will be those on the Left Hand? 41 They will be in the midst of scorching wind and boiling water, 42 And shadow of black smoke, 43 neither cold nor graceful in shape. 44 Verily they have been heretofore affluent. 45 And were persisting in great sin (joining partners in worship along with Allah, committing murders and other crimes, etc.) 46 And they used to say: What! when we die and have become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised? 47 And also our forefathers?" 48 Proclaim, “Without doubt all – the former and the latter.” 49 Will all be brought together to the tryst of an appointed day. 50 Then lo! ye, the erring, the deniers, 51 you will indeed have to taste of the tree of deadly fruit, 52 and will have to fill your bellies therewith, 53 and on top of this you will drink boiling water 54 Lapping it up like female camels raging of thirst with disease." 55 Such will be their dwelling on the Day of Judgment. 56 We have created you: why then do you not accept the truth? 57 Have you thought about what (sperm) you ejaculate? 58 Did you create it, or are We the Creator? 59 We have destined death for you and no one can challenge Us 60 In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know. 61 You have surely known of the first creation. Why then, will you not remember! 62 Have you considered the soil you till? 63 Is it you who cause it to grow - or are We the cause of its growth? 64 Did We will, We would make it broken orts, and you would remain bitterly jesting -- 65 “We have been penalised; 66 nay, we are deprived [altogether]." 67 Have ye observed the water which ye drink? 68 Is it you who sent it down from the clouds or is it We who have sent it down? 69 If We willed, surely We would make it brackish. Wherefore give ye not thanks? 70 So what is your opinion regarding the fire which you kindle? 71 Was it ye who made the tree thereof to grow, or were We the grower? 72 We have made it a reminder, and a blessing to the traveler. 73 Extol, then, the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's mighty name! 74
