Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 His shall be a pleasing life 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 Nor known whatever was my reckoning! 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 On this day, they will have no friends 35 Nor any food save filth 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
