S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Sad. By the Koran, containing the Remembrance -- 1 But nay - they who are bent on denying the truth are lost in [false] pride, and [hence] deeply in the wrong. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed afore them, and they cried when there was not time of fleeing. 3 And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves. And the disbelievers say, "This is a magician and a liar. 4 What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a marvellous thing.' 5 A group of the pagans walked out of a meeting with the Prophet and told the others, "Let us walk away. Be steadfast in the worship of your gods. This man wants to dominate you. 6 We never heard of this in the former faith; this is nothing but a forgery: 7 Has the reminder been revealed to him from among us? Nay! they are in doubt as to My reminder. Nay! they have not yet tasted My chastisement! 8 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord, the Most Mighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for them? So would they not just ascend using ropes? 10 A host of deserters of the allies shall be here put to flight. 11 Before them the people of Noah, Ad, and Pharaoh of the tent-pegs gave the lie (to the Messengers) 12 and [the tribe of] Thamud, and the people of Lot, and the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan]: they all were leagued together, [as it were, in their unbelief:] 13 Each of them gave the lie to Messengers and My decree of chastisement came upon them. 14
