Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
