The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 The day the convulsive first blast shatters convulsively 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
