The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
