A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. Sad. 1 A Book revealed unto thee,- So let thy heart be oppressed no more by any difficulty on that account,- that with it thou mightest warn (the erring) and teach the Believers). 2 O mankind, follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and do not follow other administrators, abandoning this (the Holy Qur’an); very little do you understand. 3 And how many cities have We destroyed, and Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon. 4 When (thus) Our punishment took them, no cry did they utter but this: "Indeed we did wrong." 5 We will certainly question the people and the Messengers sent to them. 6 Then We will surely relate [their deeds] to them with knowledge, and We were not [at all] absent. 7 The weighing on that day is the true (weighing). As for those whose scale is heavy, they are the successful. 8 Those whose scale will be light, will be their souls in perdition, for that they wrongfully treated Our signs. 9 We have made you inhabit the land and provided you with the means of sustenance. Only a few of you give thanks. 10
