Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 Then lots were drawn and he became of those who were pushed into the sea. 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Hallowed be Allah from that which they ascribe to Him. 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 So neither you nor those you worship 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah). 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 "We should certainly have been Servants of Allah, sincere (and devoted)!" 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So you ignore them for a time 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 Stay away from them for a while 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
