The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THAT which must come to pass [at last] comes to pass, 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they shall be as scattered dust. 6 You will become three categories: 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And the Outstrippers, the Outstrippers 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 The reward for what they did. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 Lengthened shadows, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 and raised couches 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 chastely amorous, 37 For the Companions of the Right Hand. 38
