Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
We sent Noah forth to his people, saying, "Warn your people before there comes upon them a grievous punishment." 1 Noah said: “My people, I have certainly been sent as a clear warner to you, 2 Worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me. 3 He will forgive you your sins, and will defer you to an appointed term. Verily the term of Allah when it cometh shall not be deferred, if ye but knew. 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 "But my call only increases (their) flight (from the Right). 6 And every time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears and wrapped up their faces with their garments and obstinately clung to their attitude, and waxed very proud. 7 I called to them clearly, 8 and, behold I preached to them in public; and I spoke to them secretly, in private; 9 "Ask for forgiveness of your Lord," I said. "Surely, He is the Forgiver. 10 He will let loose the sky for you in plenteous rain, 11 'And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers." 12 ‘What is the matter with you, that you do not desire honour from Allah?’ 13 Knowing that He has created you by various stages? 14 "'Do you not see how God has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another, 15 setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern? 16 And Allah has made you grow out of the earth as a growth: 17 Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction. 18 Allah has made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 That you may follow therein roads of passage.' " 20
