In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 And those that strike violently, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
