Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 when he asked his father and others, "What do you worship?" 70 They replied, "We worship idols and shall continue to worship them". 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 "Or do you good or harm?" 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping, 75 you and your fathers, the elders? 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me. 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 And when I am sick, then He restores me to health 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 and He who will, I hope, forgive me my faults on the Day of the Judgement. 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err. 86 Do not degrade me on the Day when they are resurrected. 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 (On that Day) the Garden will be brought near to the God-fearing, 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 And the soldiers of Iblees, all together. 95 And there and then, blaming one another, they [who had grievously sinned in life] will exclaim: 96 "By Allah, we were surely in clear error 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 So now we have no intercessors 100 Nor a true friend; 101 If only we could return and be among the believers!" 102 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 103 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
