Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
