Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known calculated term. 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
