The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Merciful 1 has taught the Koran. 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
