The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 and rejects what is right, 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 I have warned you then about a raging Fire: 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
