'Lord' said Moses, 'expand my chest, 25 and ease my task for me. 26 "And make loose the knot (the defect) from my tongue, (i.e. remove the incorrectness from my speech) [That occurred as a result of a brand of fire which Musa (Moses) put in his mouth when he was an infant]. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 16, Page 159]. 27 "That they understand my speech, 28 Appoint for me of my folk a familiar, 29 Harun, my brother. 30 "Add to my strength through him, 31 And associate him (with me) in my affair, 32 That we may exalt You much 33 and remember You abundantly. 34 Lo! Thou art ever Seeing us. 35 Allah said: "You are granted your request, O Musa (Moses)! 36 It is the second time that We have bestowed upon you Our favor. 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 [Saying], 'Cast him into the chest and cast it into the river, and the river will throw it onto the bank; there will take him an enemy to Me and an enemy to him.' And I bestowed upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under My eye. 39 when thy sister went out, saying, "Shall I point you to one to have charge of him?" So We returned thee to thy mother that she might rejoice, and not sorrow. Then thou slewest; a living soul, and We delivered thee out of grief, and We tried thee with many trials. Many years among the people of Midian thou didst sojourn, then camest hither, Moses, according to a decree. 40 for I have chosen thee for Mine Own service. 41 "Go forth, [then,] thou and thy brother, with My messages, and never tire of remembering Me: 42 "Go, both of you, to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience and behaved as an arrogant and as a tyrant). 43 Speak to him gently. He may possibly take heed or may come to have fear." 44 They (Moses and Aaron) said: "Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten with insolence against us, or lest he transgress all bounds." 45 [Allah] said, "Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see. 46 Go, then; you two unto him and say, 'Behold, we are apostles sent by thy Sustainer: let, then, the children of Israel go with us, and cause them not to suffer [any longer]. We have now come unto thee with a message from thy Sustainer; and [know that His] peace shall be [only] on those who follow [His] guidance: 47 It is revealed to us that those who call our message a lie or turn away from it will face the torment." 48 (Firon) said: And who is your Lord, O Musa? 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright. 50 Pharaoh said, 'And what of the former generations?' 51 (Moses) replied: "Knowledge of that is with my Lord (recorded) in the Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 It is He who has laid out the earth for you and traced routes in it and sent down water from the sky. We have brought forth every sort of plant with it, 53 Consume them as food or for grazing your cattle. In this there is evidence (of the existence of God) for the people of reason". 54
