And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink. 33 and, indeed, if you pay heed to a mortal like yourselves, you will surely be the losers! 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead and turned to dust and bones, you will be brought forth? 35 ۞ Away, away with that you are promised! 36 There exists only our present life: we die and we live [but once], and shall never be raised up again. 37 He is just a man who invents a lie about God; we cannot believe in him." 38 He said: My Lord! Help me because they deny me. 39 He said: In a little while they will most certainly be repenting. 40 And the Cry seized them justly, and We made them as scum; so away with the people of the evildoers! 41 Then We raised up other generations after them, 42 [for,] no community can ever forestall [the end of] its term - and neither can they delay [its coming]. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession. Whenever a Messenger came to his people they rejected him, calling him a liar. Thereupon, We made each people to follow the other (to its doom), reducing them to mere tales (of the past). Scourged be the people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear proofs 45 Towards Firaun and his court members – in response they were haughty, and they were in dominance. 46 and they said, 'What, shall we believe two mortals like ourselves, whose people are our servants?' 47 Thus, they gave the lie to those two, and earned (thereby) their place among the doomed: 48 And We gave the Book to Moses so that they may be guided. 49 And We made Mary's son, and his mother, a Sign, and We gave them refuge on a lofty ground, a peaceful site with springs flowing in it. 50
