The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night as it envelops; 1 and by the day when it unveils. 2 and by Him Who created the male and the female: 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 for those who spend for the cause of God, 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 and rejects what is right, 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 and before long he will be well satisfied. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
