Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
