Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 Till a limit known? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
