The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ AlifLaamRa. Those are the verses of the Book, the Clear Koran. 1 Soon will the time come when the unbelievers will wish they were Muslims. 2 Leave them that they may eat and enjoy themselves and (that) hope may beguile them, for they will soon know. 3 And We have not destroyed a town but there was therefor a decree known. 4 No community precedeth the term thereof nor doth it fall behind. 5 And yet, they [who deny the truth] say: "O thou unto whom this reminder has [allegedly] been bestowed from on high: verily, thou art mad! 6 "Why do you not bring angels to us if you are of the truthful ones?" 7 We send not the angels down except for just cause: if they came (to the ungodly), behold! no respite would they have! 8 then they would not be respited. It is We who have sent down the Remembrance, and We watch over it. 9 Indeed, We sent Messengers before you (O Muhammad SAW) amongst the sects (communities) of old. 10 And not an apostle came unto them but at him they were wont to mock. 11 Thus do We insert denial into the hearts of the criminals. 12 They do not believe in him, and the tradition of earlier nations has passed. 13 And if We opened upon them a door of the heaven, and they passed the day mounting thereto. 14 they would still have said: "Surely our eyes have been dazzled; rather, we have been enchanted." 15
