The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The believers must (eventually) win through,- 1 They who are during their prayer humbly submissive 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 And who are givers of poor-rate, 4 And they who guard their private parts 5 save from their wives, or those whom their right hands possess; for with regard to them they are free from blame " 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 and who observe their prayers. 9 These will be the heirs, 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 And We sent down from the heaven water in measure, and We caused it to settle in the earth; and verily to take it away We are Able. 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 You have a lesson in livestock. We provide you with drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many other benefits from them; some of them you eat, 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
