Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
ALIF LAM MIM. 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom, 2 As guidance and mercy for the doers of good 3 people who are steadfast in prayer, pay the religious tax, and have firm belief in the life to come. 4 Such have guidance from their Lord. Such are the successful. 5 And some people buy words of play, in order to mislead from Allah’s path, without knowledge; and to make it an article of mockery; for them is a disgraceful punishment. 6 And when Our signs are recited to such a man he turns away, waxing proud, as though he heard them not, and in his ears were heaviness; so give him good tidings of a painful chastisement. 7 Surely, those who believe and do good works shall enter gardens of bliss, 8 where they shall live for ever. The promise of Allah is the truth; He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He hath created the heavens without supports that ye can see, and hath cast into the earth firm hills, so that it quake not with you; and He hath dispersed therein all kinds of beasts. And We send down water from the sky and We cause (plants) of every goodly kind to grow therein. 10 This is the creation of Allah. So show Me that which those (whom you worship), besides Him have created. Nay, the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers and those who do not believe in the Oneness of Allah) are in plain error. 11
