and We delivered the Children of Israel from the humbling chastisement, 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 and bestowed upon them the Signs wherein lay an evident test for them. 33 These people say, 34 'There is nothing except the first death, we shall never be revived. 35 So bring our fathers [back], if what you say is true. 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those who were before them whom We destroyed? Indeed they were sinners. 37 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport: 38 We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. 39 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all - 40 The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
