Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
