The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 And who, when they measure unto them or weigh for them, diminish. 3 Do they not realise that they will be raised to life 4 (To be raised) for a Great Day? 5 a Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 NAY, VERILY, the record of the wicked is indeed [set down] in a mode inescapable! 7 Ah! what will convey unto thee what Sijjin is! - 8 A Register inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 Who give the lie to the day of judgment. 11 Which none denieth save each criminal transgressor, 12 [and so,] whenever Our messages are conveyed to them, they but say: "Fables of ancient times!" 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 then they shall enter the Fire of Hell, 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 But, the record of the righteous is [preserved] in the 'Illiyyin -- 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 Verily the pious will be in heaven, 22 resting on couches, looking around. 23 You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. 24 They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 And admixture thereof will be Water of Tasnim: 27 a spring at which those drawn close to God will drink. 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 And when the believers used to pass by, they used to gesture at each other with their eyes. 30 And whilst returning to their homes, they used to return rejoicing. 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 On Thrones (of Dignity) they will command (a sight) (of all things). 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded what they were doing? 36
