The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And it is no joke. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
