Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In a high Garden 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Lo! unto Us is their return 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
