'Lord' said Moses, 'expand my chest, 25 and make my task easy for me, 26 "And make loose the knot (the defect) from my tongue, (i.e. remove the incorrectness from my speech) [That occurred as a result of a brand of fire which Musa (Moses) put in his mouth when he was an infant]. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 16, Page 159]. 27 "That they understand my speech, 28 and appoint for me, out of my kinsfolk, one who will help me to bear my burden: 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 To strengthen me 31 and let him share my task, 32 “In order that we may profusely proclaim Your Purity.” 33 and remember you often. 34 Lo! Thou art ever Seeing us. 35 [Allah] said, "You have been granted your request, O Moses. 36 And certainly We bestowed on you a favor at another time; 37 Recall, when We indicated to your mother through inspiration: 38 'Put the baby into a chest and then throw him in the river. The river will throw him up on the shore, and then an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his will take him.' And I spread My love over you in order that you might be reared in My sight. 39 "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses! 40 I have chosen you for Me. 41 “You and your brother, both go with My signs, and do not slacken in My remembrance.” 42 Go both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds, 43 Speak to him with gentle words; perhaps he will ponder or fear' 44 The two said:" Lord! We fear he may commit excesses against us, or transgress all bounds." 45 'Fear not,' said He. 'Surely I shall be with you, hearing and seeing. 46 So go you both to Pharaoh, and say, "We are the Messengers of thy Lord, so send forth with us the Children of Israel and chastise them not; we have brought thee a sign from thy Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 Lo! it hath been revealed unto us that the doom will be for him who denieth and turneth away. 48 Pharaoh said, 'Who is your Lord, Moses?' 49 'Our Lord' he replied, 'is He Who gave everything its creation and then guided it' 50 Pharaoh said, 'And what of the former generations?' 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 The One Who has made the earth a bed for you and kept operative roads for you in it and sent down water from the sky; so with it We produced different pairs of vegetation. 53 So eat yourself and pasture your cattle. Surely there are many Signs in this for people of understanding. 54
