The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
