Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars fall, scattering, 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 And when the graves are turned upside down (and they bring out their contents) 4 everyone shall know all his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 5 O man! What has made you careless concerning your Lord, the Most Generous? 6 who created you, fashioned you and proportioned you, 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay! But you deny the Recompense (reward for good deeds and punishment for evil deeds). 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 noble, recording, 11 Who know what you do. 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, 14 In which they will enter, and taste its burning flame on the Day of Recompense, 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
