In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
