We sent Noah to his people and he lived with them for nine hundred and fifty years, then the flood engulfed them for their injustice. 14 But We saved him and the companions of the Ark, and We made the (Ark) a Sign for all peoples! 15 And Abraham, [too, was inspired by Us] when he said unto his people: "Worship God, and be conscious of Him: this is the best for you, if you but knew it! 16 You only serve, apart from God, idols and you create a calumny; those you serve, apart from God, have no power to provide for you. So seek after your provision with God, and serve Him, and be thankful to Him; unto Him you shall be returned. 17 "And if ye reject (the Message), so did generations before you: and the duty of the messenger is only to preach publicly (and clearly)." 18 See they not how Allah produceth creation, then reproduceth it? Lo! for Allah that is easy. 19 Say: "Travel in the land and see how (Allah) originated creation, and then Allah will bring forth (resurrect) the creation of the Hereafter (i.e. resurrection after death). Verily, Allah is Able to do all things." 20 He punishes whomever He wills and has mercy upon whomever He wills; and towards Him only you are to return. 21 Escape Him you cannot either in the earth or in the sky; and you have no friend or helper apart from God. 22
