Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
