Al-Qamar 2 of 3
The tribe of Thamud denied the Noble Messengers. 23 For they said: "What! a man! a Solitary one from among ourselves! shall we follow such a one? Truly should we then be straying in mind, and mad! 24 Has the Reminder been cast upon him alone among us? Nay, rather he is an impudent liar.' 25 Ah! they will know on the morrow, which is the liar, the insolent one! 26 Verily We are sending the she-camel as a test for them, so watch them thou and have patience. 27 And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Every drinking will be witnessed. 28 Then they called their fellow, and he took the sword and hamstrung her, 29 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 30 We sent upon them a single blast of sound and they were left like hay to be used by the cattle. 31 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition: is there then any one who would be admonished. 32 Lot's people also gave the lie to the warnings, 33 We sent a sandstorm against them which destroyed them all, except the family of Lot, whom We saved at the break of dawn, 34 As grace from Us. Thus We reward him who giveth thanks. 35 And he had already warned them of Our assault, but they disputed the warning. 36 and even demanded that he give up his guests [to them]: whereupon We deprived them of their sight [and thus told them, as it were]: "Taste, then, the suffering which I inflict when My warnings are disregarded!" 37 And certainly a lasting chastisement overtook them in the morning. 38 We said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 39 We have made it easy indeed to learn lessons from the Quran. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
