The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the pages are made public 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither then will you go? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
