Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
