Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 storming tempestuously 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a known calculated term. 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 The living and the dead, 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
